Jude Law Joins ‘Jane Got A Gun’ While The Cast Makes A Big Switch

jude-lawUnfortunately Michael Fassbender has had to leave production  on Lynne Ramsey’s JANE GOT A GUN, her follow-up to WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN. It’s production on X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST that will keep Fassbender longer than expected, so who will be filling his role? Well, it’s not recent cast addition Jude Law. It’s none other than Joel Edgerton, the man who was scheduled to play the outlaw husband opposite Fassbender’s ex-lover, but has now been promoted to leading man duties. Jude Law will take the role of the previously meant for Edgerton.

That’s quite the switch in terms of what I imagine is necessary for each character, but just goes to show the diversity of Edgerton. JANE GOT A GUN, is a western that sees Law (previously Edgerton) riddled with bullets and still pursued by those responsible. Law’s wife, Natalie Portman, must turn to her ex-lover Edgerton (previously Fassbender), in order to protect her husband and her home. Something tells me that Portman and Edgerton will soon see themselves falling for each other once again.

JANE GOT A GUN was scheduled to begin production next week, but after Fassbender’s departure the new starting date will be sometime in April.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
