Now I was a huge fan of Adam Sandler’s loveable ‘man child’ persona after gut-busting classics BILLY MADDISON, HAPPY GILMORE and THE WEDDING SINGER. Yes, those efforts we predictable and full of puerile humor but they were and still are, quotable classics. I also have a soft spot for BIG DADDY, MR. DEEDS and ANGER MANAGEMENT but Sandler’s output of late, has been pretty shocking.
What’s surprising is 2010s GROWN UPS is Sandler’s highest grossing comedy to date, despite being pretty woeful. I’ve never quite ‘got‘ the allurement of fellow comedians Kevin James and David Spade, while co-star Chris Rock maybe one of the finest stand-ups of his generation, but his own big-screen career is littered with more failures than successes.
That being said, GROWN UPS 2, marks Sandler’s first ever sequel and again is reunited with his aforementioned buddies. Dennis Dugan returns to direct and here we have a few new posters for the comedy set for cinemas 12th July and 9th August. Maria Bello, Salma Hayek and Maya Rudolph are also back.
