We’ve had behind-the-scenes images of Steve Coogan’s beloved failed chat show host and radio DJ, Alan Partridge, around Norwich City Centre (possibly discussing the pedestrianisation with visitors) of the characters hometown, as well as filming on the pier nearby. Now we have the first official image of the big-screen transition of Norfolk’s favourite son, (well, after Bernard Matthews of course), THE ALAN PARTRIDGE MOVIE, which is still currently filming in the UK.
Coogan’s most famous creation will make the leap from the small screen to the silver-screen and will be reunited with a host of familiar faces which include put-upon PA, Lynne (Felicity Montague) and Geordie pal, Michael (Simon Greenall). Sadly, hairy cornflake Dave Lee Travis’ inclusion was way of the mark.
THE ALAN PARTRIDGE MOVIE will hit cinemas from 16th August and co-stars Nigel Lindsay, Sean Pertwee, Phil Cornwell, Colm Meaney and Anna Maxwell Martin.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
