British thespian Jared Harris will join Paul W.S. Anderson’s period 3D disaster epic, POMPEII. The film, set in 79 A.D., already has GAME OF THRONES hearthrob, Kit Harrington and SUCKER PUNCH stunner, Emily Browning, onboard, as slave-turned-gladiator Milo, who races to save his true love Flavia, the daughter of a wealthy merchant, before she’s forced to marry a corrupt Roman general. A task made all the more difficult as the famed city in the title faces the volcanic wrath of Mount Vesuvius. Harris is expected to play Flavia’s merchant father.
Harris, son of the legendary late actor Richard, has worked with Anderson before on woeful zombie actioner RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE. One of the few in the franchise Anderson didn’t helm, although he did write and produce. Co-incidentally, Anderson has just been confirmed to return with RESIDENT EVIL: SHITSTORM (or something along those lines). It’s rumoured he’ll jump straight into that shoot once POMPEII is completed at the end of the summer.
