UK’s Channel 4 Lands Marvel’s ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Plus First Clip & New Featurette!

UK fans desperate to catch the forthcoming spin-off series based on the Marvel cinematic universe will be happy to learn Channel 4 have picked the show to screen this autumn. There is no concrete date set as yet but you can rest easy that we’ll be able to catch it later this year. The pilot was directed by THE AVENGERS’ Joss Whedon, who’ll also executive produced the entire series with the returning Clark Gregg reprising her fan favourite role of Agent Phil Coulson, mysteriously resurrected to assemble a new crop of secret agents for the shadowy organisation.

A statement from Channel 4’s Jay Hunt commented:

Like the Super Hero universe from which it has come, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is big, bold and absolutely exhilarating. Featuring the production values you’d expect from Marvel and ABC Studios, this is family entertainment at its most exciting.

The new recruits include Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May and Chloe Bennet as mysterious computer hacker-turned-superspy, Skye.

Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. will air in the US on ABC from 24th September. We have the latest featurette just below and you can find the first clip here by clicking this link!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
