Netflix have today provided us with our very first look at Joel Kinnaman in House Of Cards season 4. The new series of the hit show, which is led by Kevin Spacey, will hit the streaming service in March.

An uncompromising exploration of power, ambition and the American way, the series orbits Francis Underwood, the House Majority Whip. Underwood is the politician’s politician – masterful, beguiling, charismatic and ruthless. He and his equally ambitious wife Claire stop at nothing to ensure their ascendancy.

The actor, who was seen in that very mediocre Robocop remake joins the cast in an unspecified role, but as you can see, we have our first look at Joel Kinnaman in House Of Cards, opposite Spacey, above.

Neve Campbell also joins the new series, apparently playing half of a younger couple to rival the Spacey/ Robin Wright pairing as Frank and Claire Underwood.

We’re big fans of the show here on THN, so we’ll be snatching that remote out of the hands that anyone dares touch it on at the beginning of next month. Here’s a little from our review of season one, which is also still available on Netflix.

House Of Cards, ultimately, is a show for cynics – one which is unrelenting in its portrayal of politics, and offers no apologies to the personalities oft found within that sphere.  It’s darkly humorous and yet tinged with a sadness that only the subtlety of Kevin Spacey’s performance could hope to bring to the role of Frank Underwood; one which is as complex as the political world which it encompasses. If you’re a Netflix subscriber already, you’ve no excuse for not watching this. And if you’re not – well, grab yourself a free trial and give this a watch. You won’t regret it.

Kinnaman himself, has a very busy year. As well as House Of Cards, which debuts March 4th, the actor has a role in the big Warner Bros./ DC movie Suicide Squad in August.
