Take a Long Walk in new ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 promo

Now, usually at this time of year we’d be just a couple of short weeks away from the next season of Game of Thrones. Frustratingly, that’s not the case this year, the show has been pushed back to July. This is due to filming needing to happen later in the year so that the scenes can be filmed during colder weather. After all, winter is coming… To take the sting out of the wait a little, HBO have treated us to a brand new promo for the forthcoming season 7.

Unfortunately there is no new footage within the promo, oh how HBO like to toy with us when it comes to their biggest property. Instead, it casts a spotlight on our three throne front-runners, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Cersei (Headey). The trio are each seen taking a long walk, before sitting down on their respective thrones, all to a cover of James‘ Sit Down. When season six ended Cersei had manipulated her way onto the iron throne, but just how long will she last? The promo ends with some ice cold breath; either Cersei’s been chewing a lot of Ice White gum, or Winter has indeed arrived.

Game of Thrones Season 7 finally arrives back on U.S screens on 16th July 2017. The UK have a whole extra day to endure, with the show returning to Sky Atlantic on 17th July 2017.
