We’re hearing that Neve Campbell, one of the original stars of the Scream series, is returning for the eighth movie, which is currently in development. Campbell most recently appeared in the seventh film, and has been in six of the seven released so far, sitting out in 2022’s Scream.
The actor was speaking with the Associated Press while out promoting Netflix series Black Doves, in which she stars in. Replying to a question about what she’s got next, Campbell reportedly said: “I’ve got two shows I’m developing, one I’ve sold. ‘Scream 8’ you know, that’s in the pipeline as well.”
Lilla and Nora Zuckerman have been hired to write the screenplay for the next film with no director announced at the time of writing.
We’ll update with more on Scream 8 it comes in. Black Doves returns this week and Campbell plays Cecile Mason, a US defence envoy sent to the UK in the run-up to an important international peace summit.
