Despite the events in John Wick: Chapter 4 it looks like a ‘John Wick 5’ is in the works over at Lionsgate. We’ll post some spoilers for ‘4’ below so, if you haven’t seen it, look away. More on the John Wick 5 news below.
The John Wick 5 news comes from a big John Wick Experience event in Las Vegas where Jenefer Brown, EVP and Head of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate, reportedly confirmed news of a new movie.
“This world continues to grow and expand in incredible ways,” she told ComicBook. “Up next, of course, we have Ballerina, which is our first spin-off movie and [we] can’t wait for that to release to the world. Of course, we’ve announced we’re working on a fifth John Wick film.”
The site pressed on a fifth Wick before she added: “We’ve shared that we’re developing a fifth John Wick film … [John Wick] may be [dead]. We are all on bated breath waiting to find out.”
John Wick: Chapter 4 was released back in 2023 and was a belter of an action movie; possibly the best in the series in my eyes. Obviously John Wick did die at the end of the film concluding a four film franchise perfectly. It made a ton of money, though – over $440 million at the global box-office with more brought in on home release. The four films releases so far have made over $1 billion theatrically.
There’s more at the end of the link above. Obviously no news on whether Keanu Reeves will return at this stage or if the film makes it out of development. What we do know is the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is coming to cinemas on 6th June.
The John Wick Experience in Vegas promises you ‘initiation into the dangerous and captivating world of John Wick, where loyalties are tested, alliances forged and danger is just a breath away.’
