‘The Batman: Part II’ production paused

Production on the Warner Bros’/ DC Studios sequel The Batman: Part II has been paused as director Matt Reeves steps away for ‘personal reasons’. Deadline posted the news, as well as a statement from the studio:

 “Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter,” the statement said. “Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”

The new film stars Robert Pattinson in the title role with a planned release date set for February of 2028. The film also stars Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/The Penguin, Jayme Lawson as Gotham Mayor Bella Reál, and Gil Perez-Abraham as Officer Martinez. Joining the franchise are Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Dent, Charles Dance as Christopher Dent, Sebastian Koch in an undisclosed role, and Brian Tyree Henry in an undisclosed role.
